"A good laugh and a long sleep are the best cures in the doctor's book." ~Irish Proverb

Our practice is taking new patients, and we would be happy to make you part of our community. Please browse through our site and feel free to call with questions. Thanks for visiting. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
Westchester Health Associates
We are fortunate to be members of our larger organization: Westchester Health, (WH). WH is a team of 100+ highly experienced, private physicians who have combined their practices to create a unique multi-specialty medical group. Westchester Health physicians share the philosophy of old-fashioned medical care that involves the thoughtful collaboration of many small, independent physician practices. Integrated with electronic medical records, regular team meetings and group email, Westchester Health strives to give patients a gentler alternative to the increasingly impersonal mega-groups. You may be already be seeing one of our WH colleagues: talented internists, pediatricians, endocrinologists, cardiologists, dermatologists, gastroenterologists, orthopedists, neurologists, podiatrists, plastic surgeons and urologists that comprise WH. Central Office and our Private Office:
Many Westchester Health physicians see patients inKatonah for part of the week: at 60 Goldens Bridge Road, exit 6 off I-684, (at the intersection of routes 35 & 22.) This office is a shared physicians space that encourages collegiality and makes sharing patients that much easier, as do the electronic medical records shared by all Westchester Health physicians, across all Westchester and Putnam counties.
Sarah and I are based in Katonah and Yorktown, or can be found teaching at local schools. Dennis is more the traveller: if not in Katonah, he may be in Yorktown, Carmel, in the operating room or delivering a baby in Mt Kisco or Carmel. (He has a small car and gets much better mileage than the rest of us.) Florence sees her dedicated former Carmel patients in Carmel and new patients in Yorktown.
Dennis and I work out of 2 hospitals to accomodate our patients. Having both trained in superb academic hospitals, we have very high standards. We chose to be affiliated with Northern Westchester and Putnam Hospitals, as they meet our criteria for high-level patient care.
The facilities are up-to-date and the staff care for our patients in the manner that we appreciate. While It might be easier to focus on a single hospital, (especially on a cold, winter's night when 2 women are in labor), we respect our patient's preference to be cared for or to have their baby close to home.
Northern Westchester Hospital, Mt Kisco, NY
NWH is a well-respected community hospital with 24-hour anesthesia and NICU, level III. [nwhc.net.] NWH is also one of only five Hospitals in the country to be designated as a Planetree Patient-Centered Care Hospital. Recently Northern Westchester was recognized as being in the top 1% of patient satisfaction on emergency care.
"At Northern Westchester Hospital, we have been at the forefront of performing minimally invasive surgery using the da Vinci® Robotic Surgical System. The real beauty of it is that it enhances our view of the inside of the body because it has a stereoscopic camera which provides a magnified view and the specialized robotic instruments provide superior dexterity."
Putnam Hospital Center, Carmel, NY
PHC was recently ranked in the top 10% hospitals nationwide and as a result, received the 2010/2011 HealthGrades Outstanding Patient Experience Award.
PHC is a 164-bed not-for-profit acute care hospital offering the highest quality medical, surgical, psychiatric, pediatric and obstetrical/gynecological care, as well as 24-hour ER; a full range of inpatient and outpatient services are offered. PHC serves a growing population who live and work in Putnam, northern Westchester and southern Dutchess counties. [health-quest.org.]
Aside from PHC's new facilities and expertise, my favorite reason for bringing patients there is the genuine kindness and empathy given my patients by the staff. From the nurses to anesthesiologists, to the clerks, etc. I am consistently impressed with the high-level, patient-centered care my patients recieve at PHC. I know I would be comfortable having a family member treated there.
McGroary and Malley ("m&m"):Small Practice Means Personal Care
We share patient care night and day. One of us is always on call for our patients. We often work together in the operating room, delivery room and in the office. For this reason, our patients recieve the most personalized care possible, a huge distinction from most Obstetrics practices in the region. This may mean we run late on the rare occasion, but when you need us, we will always be there for you - no exceptions.
We are very lucky to have grown in the past year, adding Florence Neary, RNP and Sarah Chacko, MD. Each of these amazingly warm clinicians have decades of experience, and will help us with our gynecology patients, to keep wait times short, and to always be able to see emergency patients on a same-day basis.
A good fit?
Choosing the right Ob/Gyn practice for you and even your partner is a very important decision. It is central to your satisfaction during some of the most important moments in your life. If you decide to become our patient, you will be cared for by our small, nurturing team, from adolescence through your pregnancies and transition through menopause. If you are pregnant, or considering pregnancy, we welcome preconceptual consults so that you may get a feel for us, and decide for yourself if we are all a good fit.
As noted earlier, Sarah and Florence have both limited the scope of their practice to office gynecology-only, in order to find the balance they need to enjoy work during very important chapters in each of their lives.
Like family
We strive to care for our patients in the way we know they deserve; the way we want our daughters, sisters and mothers to be cared for. Our goal is to maintain the empathy and humanity that depicts the doctor-patient relationship at its best. We are proud that our growing partnership is developing mainly from word of mouth of our patients.
We feel lucky when one of our patients refers a good friend or family member; we often get to see our patients when they come with their friends, or witness the reunion of college students home for break in our waiting room.
Nothing is sweeter
to 40-something year-old physicians, than seeing a group of happy, young, college girls screaming and hugging in impromptu reunions in our waiting room over school breaks. It's wonderful to witness; moments like this happen often enough here to make us feel uniquely lucky to have found this wonderful community of warm, loving patients.

Within her is the power to create, nurture and transform."
