"A book is a garden, an orchard, a storehouse, a party, a company by the way, a counsellor, a multitude of counsellors."
~Henry Ward Beecher

Recommended Reading on Pregnancy, Childbirth and Childcare

it is easier to believe, than to doubt.
Knowing this is a personal choice, I will only gently recommend some of the books I enjoyed during my own pregnancies, and to update it a bit, I have been surveying my patients as to their favorites.

You may already have chosen a book you are comfortable with. Please do not feel the need to purchase more than one or two.

Once the baby comes there will be no time to read more than a paragraph at a time, for wisdom or reassurance - at least in the beginning.

If one feels the need of something grand, something infinite, something that makes one feel aware of God, one need not go far to find it. I think that I see something deeper, more infinite, more eternal than the ocean in the expression of the eyes of a little baby when it wakes in the morning and coos or laughs because it sees the sun shining on its cradle.”   ~ Vincent Van Gogh
